At Kinsterna, sustainability is woven into every aspect of our operations. This dedication has earned us recognition through the Greek Tourism Awards for addressing at least four of the United Nations’ Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing our contribution to a more sustainable future.
A cornerstone of our environmental efforts is our deep respect for the wildlife that calls our estate home. Each spring, swallows migrate to Kinsterna, building nests throughout the property and sharing their songs with our guests. To support these seasonal visitors, we have implemented several measures:
- Installing feeders and water stations to provide sustenance
- Ensuring our open spaces remain clean and undisturbed to protect their nesting areas
- Allowing swallows to choose their nesting sites freely, even in prominent areas of the estate
- During guided tours, we highlight the importance of these graceful birds, showcasing their role in the local ecosystem and reaffirming our commitment to preserving their habitat
